•Necessity of antiplatelet & anticoagulation therapy in mild ,moderate & high risk individual by CHADS (CCF,HT,AGE>70,DIABETES & STROKE).
•Digitalis has been mainstay of drug therapy for long time but it is unable to control exercise related fast ventricular rate while target should be not more than 110% of THR for that age.
• He gave a brief overview of new drugs like selective atrial antiarrythmic drugs in pipeline.

•Dr PK deb spoke on Antiischemic therapy.He started with characteristics of cardiac metabolism where 80 to 90 % energy (ATP) is generated by fat Metabolism .Fat metabolism is more effective in organ like beating heart were you need continuous energy.
He outlined various class of drugs like late Na channel blockers like Ranolazine,K channel activator like Nikorandil & IF channel activator like Ivabradine.New drug like Fasudil (RO inhibitor )was discussed.
